Assistant Principal's Message
Dear PACE School Community,
It is an honor to introduce myself as the elementary assistant principal of PACE Academy and to join this extraordinary school community for my 2nd year. I can assure you that I share in this school community’s commitment to caring for your children each and every day while providing them a world-class learning environment. I believe that great schools are the results of great teachers, so my primary objective will be to ensure that every student is receiving high-quality instruction from every teacher.
I arrive at PACE as a seasoned elementary teacher and school leader. The 2020-2021 school year will mark my 18th year in education. Since graduating from the Principal's Center at Harvard University, I have served communities in under-resourced schools in both Detroit and New York City. Although I have always felt at home in the classroom, it is in my position as a school leader where I have been most fulfilled in my life’s work. The elementary assistant principalship provides me the chance to work collaboratively with teachers on a daily basis, while also remaining connected to young students learning and growing in the classroom. I will spend a lot of time with your children, getting to know their personalities, learning styles, and interests. I will celebrate their successes, small and large. I will encourage them every day and let them know they are valued and have a special place in our school community.
My observations of the school climate and conversations with faculty have brought me privileged insights into the core beliefs and values that underlie PACE Academy. As your elementary assistant principal, it is important to me that everyone who steps through our doors-teachers, students, and parents are excited to be here! This attitude enables us to meet the challenges of academic excellence in a positive, fun, and nurturing environment.
In closing, I will be working closely with the principal to guarantee that all of our students are intellectually challenged and have access to the social and emotional support critical to students during these early years.
Do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions, concerns, or ideas you would like to share.
In partnership with you,
Ms. Kiran Rai
Elementary Assistant Principal
