2026 Charter School Day @ the Capital - 3rd Grade Field Trip

The event, organized by MAPSA (Michigan Association of Public School Academies), features student performances, a rally on the Capitol steps, and opportunities for advocates to meet with legislators.

Location: Michigan State Capitol, 100 N Capitol Ave, Lansing, MI 48933

Date: April 22, 2026

Time: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Cost: $15/student or chaperone - Non-Refundable

Time: Depart @ 9:00 AM, and Return @ 1:30PM

Permission Deadline: April 17, 2026

The 3rd grade teachers have requested a maximum of 6 chaperones total. Chaperones are taken on a first-come basis.

CHAPERONES MUST:

Have ICHAT clearence for the 2025/2026 school year. (Stop at the main entrance security desk for ICHAT info.).

Ride the school bus to and from the field trip
Be responsible for a small group of students, as assigned by the classroom teacher.
Chaperones are required to pay for this trip.

I agree that in allowing my child to attend this field trip I will hold teachers, employees, and any other persons assisting with any phase of such trip harmless from any liability, claims and responsibility for making such trip and activities. I further release all of these parties from liability because of any accident or injury that may occur while on the trip or participating in such activities. In the event of illness or accident to my child and I cannot be reached, I authorize my child to be provided with such first aid treatment, ambulance service, and/or emergency hospitalization as deemed advisable and necessary by school personnel.
